Addigy Privacy Statement

Addigy, Inc. (“Addigy” or the “Company”) is committed to protecting the privacy of those who visit the Company’s Web sites (“Visitors”), and those who register to use the Services as defined below (“Customers”). This Privacy Statement describes Addigy’s privacy practices in relation to the use of the Company’s Web sites and the related devices, applications and services offered by Addigy (the “Services”).
1. Web sites covered
This Privacy Statement covers the information practices of Web sites that link to this Privacy Statement, including: www.addigy.com (referred to as “Addigy’s Web sites” or “the Company’s Web sites”).
Addigy’s Web sites may contain links to other Web sites. The information practices or the content of such other Web sites is governed by the privacy statements of such other Web sites. The Company encourages you to review the privacy statements of other Web sites, including ones we may link to, in order to understand their information practices.
2. Information collected
When expressing an interest in obtaining additional information about the Services or registering to use the Services, Addigy requires you to provide the Company with personal contact information, such as name, company name, address, phone number, and email address (“Required Contact Information”). When purchasing the Services, Addigy may require you to provide the Company with financial qualification and billing information, such as billing name and address, credit card number, and the number of employees within the organization that will be using the Services (“Billing Information”). Addigy may also ask you to provide additional information, such as company annual revenues, number of employees, or industry (“Optional Information”). Required Contact Information, Billing Information, and Optional Information about Customers are referred to collectively as “Data About Addigy Customers”.
As you navigate the Company’s Web sites, Addigy may also collect information through the use of commonly-used information-gathering tools, such as cookies and Web beacons (“Web Site Navigational Information”). Web Site Navigational Information includes standard information from your Web browser (such as browser type and browser language), your Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, and the actions you take on the Company’s Web sites (such as the Web pages viewed and the links clicked).
Data you generate with Addigy Services
The Services include the Addigy products you use, where we process content that you collect, send, receive and share. This content includes any information about you that you may choose to include. Examples include: the summary and description added to a support or ticket issue, the custom policy settings you define in Addigy, the chat messages you exchange, your software repositories, comments you enter in connection with Public Software Catalog items, and any feedback you provide to us. Content also includes the files and links you upload to the Services.
Data you provide in our web sites
The Services also include our web sites owned or operated by us. We collect other content that you submit to these web sites, which include social media or social networking web sites operated by us. For example, you provide content to us when you provide feedback or when you participate in any interactive features, surveys, contests, promotions, sweepstakes, activities or events.
Data you provide to support
The Services also include our customer support, where you may choose to submit information regarding a problem you are experiencing with a Service. Whether you designate yourself as a technical contact, open a support ticket, speak to one of our representatives directly or otherwise engage with our support team, you will be asked to provide contact information, a summary of the problem you are experiencing, and any other documentation, screenshots or information that would be helpful in resolving the issue.
We do not store certain payment and billing information when you register for Addigy. For example, we ask you to provide Credit Card Information, upon registration – this information is not stored in Addigy and a hashed version for billing identification is stored. All payment information, such as payment card details, is processed with PCI Compliant standards.
Data we store automatically when you use the Services
We collect and log information about you when you use our Services, including browsing our web sites and taking certain actions within the Services for your auditing purposes and compliance.
Your use of the Addigy Services
We keep track of certain information about you when you visit and interact with any of our Services. This information includes the features you use; the links you click on; the type, size and filenames of attachments you upload to the Services; and name and/or email address.
Device and Connection Data
We collect information about your computer, phone, tablet, or other devices installed in Addigy. This device information includes your connection type and settings when you install, access, update, or use Addigy.
We also collect information through your device about your operating system, browser type, IP address, URLs, device identifiers, and crash data. We use your IP address and/or MAC Address in order to provide device level information for auditing purposes. We do not store or collect any of you or your customers Personal Identifiable Information for use outside of your own environment. All information is strictly maintained and managed within your own Addigy instance. Addigy does not use any direct machine, device, phone, or tablet information for any external purposes.
3. Use of information collected
The Company uses Data About Addigy Customers to perform the services requested. For example, if you fill out a “Contact Me” Web form, the Company will use the information provided to contact you about your interest in the Services. The Company may also use Data About Addigy Customers for marketing purposes. For example, the Company may use information you provide to contact you to further discuss your interest in the Services and to send you information regarding the Company, its affiliates, and its partners, such as information about promotions or events.
Addigy uses credit card information solely to check the financial qualifications and collect payment from prospective and current Customers. Addigy uses Web Site Navigational Information to operate and improve the Company’s Web sites. The Company may also use Web Site Navigational Information alone or in combination with Data About Addigy Customers to provide you with personalized information about the Company.
4. Web Site Navigational Information
Cookies, Web Beacons and IP Addresses. Addigy uses commonly-used information-gathering tools, such as cookies and Web beacons, to collect information as you navigate the Company’s Web sites (“Web Site Navigational Information”). This section describes the types of Web Site Navigational Information used on the Company’s Web sites and how this information may be used.
The following sets out how Addigy uses different categories of cookies. Please consult the user documentation and help information provided by the maker of your browser for your options for managing cookies’ settings:

|Performance cookies||These cookies collect information about how Visitors use our Web site, including which pages visitors go to most often and if they receive error messages from certain pages. These cookies do not collect information that individually identifies a Visitor. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and anonymous. It is only used to improve how the Company’s Web site functions and performs.
From time-to-time, Addigy engages third parties to track and analyze usage and volume statistical information from individuals who visit the Company’s Web sites. Addigy may also utilize Flash cookies for these purposes.
|Functionality Cookies||Functionality cookies allow the Company’s Web sites to remember information you have entered or choices you make (such as your username, language, or your region) and provide enhanced, more personal features. These cookies also enable you to optimize your use of Addigy’s Services after logging in. These cookies can also be used to remember changes you have made to text size, fonts and other parts of web pages that you can customize.
Addigy uses local shared objects, also known as Flash cookies, to store your preferences or display content based upon what you view on our Websites to personalize your visit.
Third parties, with whom the Company partners to provide certain features on our Web sites or to display advertising based upon your Web browsing activity, use Flash cookies to collect and store information. Flash cookies are different from browser cookies because of the amount of, type of, and how data is stored.
Addigy uses Web beacons alone or in conjunction with cookies to compile information about Customers and Visitors’ usage of the Company’s Web sites and interaction with emails from the Company. Web beacons are clear electronic images that can recognize certain types of information on your computer, such as cookies, when you viewed a particular Website tied to the Web beacon, and a description of a Website tied to the Web beacon. For example, Addigy may place Web beacons in marketing emails that notify the Company when you click on a link in the email that directs you to one of the Company’s Web sites. Addigy uses Web beacons to operate and improve the Company’s Web sites and email communications.
When you visit Addigy’s Web sites, the Company collects your Internet Protocol (“IP”) addresses to track and aggregate non-personal information. For example, Addigy uses IP addresses to monitor the regions from which Customers and Visitors navigate the Company’s Web sites. Addigy also collects IP addresses from Customers whey they log into the Services as part of the Company’s “Identity Confirmation” and “IP Range Restrictions” security features.
Social Media Features
Do Not Track
Currently, various browsers – including Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari – offer a “do not track” or “DNT” option that relies on a technology known as a DNT header, which sends a signal to Web sites’ visited by the user about the user’s browser DNT preference setting. Addigy does not currently commit to responding to browsers’ DNT signals with respect to the Company’s Web sites, in part, because no common industry standard for DNT has been adopted by industry groups, technology companies or regulators, including no consistent standard of interpreting user intent. Addigy takes privacy and meaningful choice seriously and will make efforts to continue to monitor developments around DNT browser technology and the implementation of a standard.
Many browsers include their own management tools for removing HTML5 local storage objects. You may be able to opt out of receiving personalized advertisements using the “Opt Out” banner on our web sites where applicable.
You will not be able to opt-out of any cookies or other technologies that are “strictly necessary” for the Services.
5. Public forums, public Slack channels, and customer testimonials
Addigy may provide bulletin boards, blogs, or chat rooms on the Company’s Web sites. Any personal information you choose to submit in such a forum may be read, collected, or used by others who visit these forums, and may be used to send you unsolicited messages. Addigy is not responsible for the personal information you choose to submit in these forums.
Customers and Visitors may elect to use the Company’s referral program to inform friends about the Company’s Web sites. When using the referral program, the Company requests the friend’s name and email address. Addigy will automatically send the friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the Company’s Web sites. Addigy does not store this information.
Addigy posts a list of Customers and testimonials on the Company’s Web sites that contain information such as Customer names and titles. Addigy obtains the consent of each Customer prior to posting any information on such a list or posting testimonials.
Additionally, Addigy may recommend reviewing public forums like the MacAdmins Slack Channel. You should be aware that any information you provide on these websites or channels – including profile information associated with the account you use to post the information – may be read, collected, and used by any member of the public who accesses these websites. Your posts and certain profile information may remain even after you terminate your account. We urge you to consider the sensitivity of any information you input into these Services. To request removal of your information from publicly accessible websites operated by us, please contact us as provided below. In some cases, we may not be able to remove your information, in which case we will let you know if we are unable to and why.
6. Sharing of information collected
Addigy may share Data About Addigy Customers with the Company’s contracted service providers so that these service providers can provide services on our behalf. Without limiting the foregoing, Addigy may also share Data about Addigy Customers with the Company’s service providers to ensure the quality of information provided, and with third-party social networking and media Web sites, such as Facebook, for marketing and advertising on those Web sites. Unless described in this Privacy Statement, Addigy does not share, sell, rent, or trade any information with third parties for their promotional purposes.
Managed accounts and administrators
If you register or access the Services using an email address with a domain that is owned by your employer or organization, and such organization wishes to establish an account or site, certain information about you including your name,, contact info, content and past use of your account may become accessible to that organization’s administrator and other Service users sharing the same domain. If you are an administrator for a particular site or group of users within the Services, we may share your contact information with current or past Service users, for the purpose of facilitating Service-related requests.
You can create content, which may contain information about you, and grant permission to others to see, share, edit, copy and download that content based on settings you or your administrator (if applicable) select. Some of the collaboration features of the Services display some or all of your information to other Service users when you share or interact with specific content. For example, when you comment on a Public Software Catalog Item, we display your user name and organization name next to your comments so that other users with access to the page or issue understand who made the comment. Please be aware that some aspects of Addigy Services like Custom Software be made publicly available, meaning any content posted, including information about you, can be viewed within Addigy Services by other Addigy users.
The Company may share Data about Addigy Customers with other companies in order to work with them. For example, the Company may need to share Data About Addigy Customers for customer relationship management purposes.
Addigy may partner with other companies to jointly offer products or services. If you purchase or specifically express interest in a jointly-offered product or service from Addigy, the Company may share Data About Addigy Customers collected in connection with your integration, purchase or expression of interest with our joint partner(s). Addigy does not control our business partners’ use of the Data About Addigy Customers we collect, and their use of the information will be in accordance with their own privacy policies. If you do not wish for your information to be shared in this manner, you may opt not to purchase or specifically express interest in a jointly offered product or service. We work with third parties who provide software, sales tools, and technical services to deliver and implement customer solutions around the Services. We may share your information with these third parties in connection with their services, such as to assist with billing and collections, to provide support, and to provide customizations. We may also share information with these third parties where you have agreed to that sharing.
Third Party Integrations
Addigy uses a third-party service provider to manage credit card processing called Stripe. This service provider is not permitted to store, retain, or use Billing Information except for the sole purpose of credit card processing on the Company’s behalf. Addigy reserves the right to use or disclose information provided if required by law or if the Company reasonably believes that use or disclosure is necessary to protect the Company’s rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process.
7. International transfer of information collected
The Company primarily stores Data About Addigy Customers in the United States. To facilitate Addigy’s global operations, the Company may transfer and access such information from around the world, including from other countries in which the Company has operations. This Privacy Statement shall apply even if Addigy transfers Data About Addigy Customers to other countries.
Legal bases for processing (for EEA users)
If you are an individual in the European Economic Area (EEA), we collect and process information about you only where we have legal basis for doing so under applicable EU laws. The legal basis depends on the Addigy Services you use and how you use them. This means we collect and use your information only where:
- We need it to provide you the Services, including to operate the Services, provide customer support and personalized features and to protect the safety and security of Addigy Services;
- It satisfies a legitimate interest (which is not overridden by your data protection interests), such as for research and development, to market and promote the Services and to protect our legal rights and interests;
- You give us consent to do so for a specific purpose; or
- We need to process your data to comply with a legal obligation.
If you have consented to our use of information about you for a specific purpose, you have the right to change your mind at any time, but this will not affect any processing that has already taken place. Where we are using your information because we or a third party (e.g. your employer) have a legitimate interest to do so, you have the right to object to that use though, in some cases, this may mean no longer using Addigy Services. 8. Communications preferences
Addigy offers Visitors and Customers who provide contact information a means to choose how the Company uses the information provided. You may manage your receipt of marketing and non-transactional communications by clicking on the “unsubscribe” link located on the bottom of the Company’s marketing emails. Additionally, you may send a request to email@example.com.
9. Correcting and updating your information
Customers/Controllers may update, delete, or change their registration information by editing their user or organization records where it is inaccurate or processed in violation of the Privacy Shield Principles. To update a user profile, please log in to prod.addigy.com or eu.addigy.com with your Addigy username and password and click “Setup.” To update an organization’s information, please login to prod.addigy.com with your Addigy username and password and select the Support > Users page. Visitors may update or change their user registration information on the event’s Web site after logging in. To update Billing Information or have your registration information deleted, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call +1 (305) 330-6677. To discontinue your account and to have information you maintained in the Services returned to you, please email email@example.com or call +1 (305) 330-6677. Requests to access, change, or delete your information will be handled within 30 days except where the burden or expense or providing access would be disproportionate to the risks to the individual’s privacy in the case in question, or where other individuals rights would be violated.
10. Customer Data
Addigy Customers may electronically submit data or information to the Services for hosting and processing purposes (“Customer Data”). Addigy will not review, share, distribute, or reference any such Customer Data except as provided in the Addigy Customer Agreement, or as may be required by law. In accordance with the Addigy Master Subscription Agreement, Addigy may access Customer Data only for the purpose of providing the Services or preventing or addressing service or technical problems or as may be required by law.
Addigy uses robust security measures to protect Data About Addigy Customers. Addigy collects information globally and primarily stores that information in the United States and Ireland. We transfer, process and store your information outside of your country of residence, to wherever we or our third-party service providers operate for the purpose of providing you the Services. Whenever we transfer your information, we take steps to protect it.
Addigy shall remain liable under the Principle of Accountability for Onward Transfer if its sub processors process your Personal Information in a manner inconsistent with the Privacy Shield Principles, unless Addigy proves that it is not responsible for the event giving rise to the damage.

Notice to End Users
Many of our products are intended for use by organizations. Where the Services are made available to you through an organization (e.g. your employer), that organization is the administrator of the Services and is responsible for the accounts and/or Service sites over which it has control. If this is the case, please direct your data privacy questions to your administrator, as your use of the Services is subject to that organization’s policies. We are not responsible for the privacy or security practices of an administrator’s organization, which may be different than this policy.
Administrators are able to:
- require you to reset your account password;
- restrict, suspend or terminate your access to the Services;
- access information in and about your account;
- access or retain information stored as part of your account;
- install or uninstall third-party apps or other integrations
In some cases, administrators can also:
- restrict, suspend or terminate your account access;
- change the email address associated with your account;
- change your information, including profile information;
- restrict your ability to edit, restrict, modify or delete information
Even if the Addigy Services are not currently administered to you by an organization, if you use an email address provided by an organization (such as your work email address) to access Addigy Services, then the owner of the domain associated with your email address (e.g. your employer) may assert administrative control over your account and use of the Services at a later date. You will be notified if this happens.
If you do not want an administrator to be able to assert control over your account or use of Addigy Services, use your personal email address to register for or access the Services. If an administrator has not already asserted control over your account or access to the Services, you can update the email address associated with your account through your account settings in your profile. Once an administrator asserts control over your account or use of the Services, you will no longer be able to change the email address associated with your account without administrator approval.
