New Addigy MDM controls for Apple Intelligence

At WWDC 2024 Apple announced that Apple Intelligence will be available in upcoming versions of iOS, macOS and iPadOS. It will provide new AI augmented functions in various locations in Apple native applications and throughout the operating system.

While this is an exciting development, some organizations may not want to enable AI in their employees’ devices. Those who are open to the new capabilities may also want to control what AI features are available to end users. MDM tools like Addigy can help manage those settings.

The first set of Apple Intelligence features will be available next month for iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1. At that time, we intend to make support available for managing Apple Intelligence features on managed devices based on the documentation Apple has shared via Appleseed for IT and their Device Management Client Schema on GitHub.

In the meantime, Addigy is helping our customers stay ahead of the game by making it easy for you to experiment with these controls within the Apple Intelligence beta.

How can Addigy manage these controls?

To help organizations who manage Apple devices adhere to potential data security and compliance requirements, Addigy now offers granular controls within our platform to help IT administrators choose which capabilities to offer to end-users. This is not just an on off switch for all of the functions, but a per feature, as well as per enablement workflow, set of controls and restrictions.

How do I get these controls?

Each of the three areas outlined are covered in different Addigy releases already in our product live today. We highly recommend that you join the AppleSeed for IT program to get early access to these functions and test out the restrictions and enablement that end users will be seeing when the new Apple OSes release.
